FAQs
When is my last chance to check things out before the closed period?
Wednesday, November 26. Open 9am - 5pm.
When will my check-outs be due?
Starting November 6, everything will be due Wednesday, January 7.
What about fines?
Don’t worry – nobody’s overdue fines will grow during the days the library is closed.
Can I check out more things than usual?
Regular limits remain – 50 books, 10 magazines, and 6 movies.
Can I renew materials while you’re closed?
There will be no in-person or phone renewals. You may renew through the online catalog, if you have set up a PIN number at the Circulation Desk.
Can I return things while you’re closed?
Yes! Please use the outdoor bookdrops at the old library throughout the closed period.
What about my holds?
Don’t worry – nothing will expire. You will be notified of available items after December 22.
Can I still borrow books on interlibrary loan?
The last day to make a request is Friday, Nov. 7. Please return your finished ILL books in the outdoor bookdrops.
Can I call or e-mail the library while closed?
No, sorry.
Will hours change in the new building?
Library hours will stay the same.
Do you need help moving?
No, we are lucky to have professional movers!
What will happen to the Carnegie Building?
Some other City department offices will move in.
Will you be selling old furniture and books?
Yes, there will be public sales in 2009. (Dates to be announced.)

Santa Storytime
The library will host a storytime with a Santa visit in the Coliseum Blue Room. December 16 and 19 at 10:15am. All are welcome. No pre-registration. Bring your camera!
